Helen Louise Lowe, 88, of Brenham (formerly of Lufkin), was born January 25, 1922 in Angelina County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Melissa (Swearingen) and Dave Lowe. Ms. Lowe passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 in the Brenham nursing facility.
Ms. Lowe graduated from Lufkin High School and attended business school. She worked with Howard Walker Realty from 1943 - 1953 and also worked for Lufkin Industries. She was retired from the city of Lufkin following more than 30 years of employment, where she was secretary for the City Manager and Mayors. Ms. Lowe was associated with Keltys First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her niece, Diane Krus and husband Clint of New Ulm, Texas; great nieces and nephews, Kimberly Weidenheft and husband Steve, Duane Krus and wife Melissa, Kye Krus and wife Patrice, and Khris Krus; numerous great-great nieces and nephews; and very dear friends, Jetta Westerholm, David Walker and Dianna Chapman.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Lowe was preceded in death by her brother, James C. Lowe; nephew, James D. Lowe; and dear friend, Harvey Westerholm.
Pallbearers will be David Walker, Clint Krus, Duane Krus, Kye Krus, Khris Krus and Steve Weidenheft.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
