

Mr. O'Quinn graduated from Central High School and later joined the Civil Service. He and Myrtle Dunn were married in 1942. He went into the Army and served his country in Africa and France during World War II. Mr. O'Quinn had been a supervisor at Lufkin Industries. He farmed and raised cattle and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of Pollok Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara Ann O'Quinn of Pollok; grandson, Roy David O'Quinn of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Barbara L. O'Quinn of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Riley and Janette O'Quinn of Pollok and Clyde and Jane O'Quinn of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. O'Quinn is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle (Dunn) O'Quinn; son, David O'Quinn; sisters, Marie Spencer, Gladys Martin, Jean Evans; and brothers, Cecil and Clifton O'Quinn.
Pallbearers will be Riley Dean O'Quinn, Ben O'Quinn, Cody O'Quinn, Leland Sanford, Reagan Sanford and Keith Spencer.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Green Shack Gang, Terry O'Quinn and Jay Don Bailey.
Services for Mr. O'Quinn will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Carrier and Bro. Ford Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Gann Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
