James Dempsey McClain

James was born January 16, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas. He passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at his residence in Houston.

James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He loved World War II memorabilia, especially airplanes from that era. He was a past Grandmaster of the Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M. He was also a Shriner, Scottish Rite and York Rite. James was employed for the City of Lufkin for 38 years. He was a member of Carpenter’s Way Baptist Church and a member of Sky Warn as a storm spotter.

Survivors include his daughter, Heather Reynolds of Houston; son, Joshua Chunn and wife Angela of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Ireland Reynolds, Nikki Reynolds, Katelynn Chunn, Jacob Chunn and Lucas Chunn; sister, Sharon; brothers, Donnie McClain and Jerry Joe McClain; and mother, Betty McClain.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra McClain; and father, Ralph D. McClain.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
