James Mark Standley, born on February 3, 1966, passed away August 11, 2024. He was the beloved son of Mary Louise Eaves Standley and James Oliver Standley, both of whom predeceased him. James was also preceded in death by his sister, Debra Lea Sovil.
A Spring Branch High School graduate, James worked as a sacker for HEB, where he was known for his kind demeanor and hard work. Outside of work, James had a deep passion for bingo and enjoyed watching old TV shows. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and San Francisco 49ers.
James is survived by his sister Janet Moos and her husband Marvin Moos, as well as his nephew, Bradley Novotny, and his dear friend Eric Krotzer. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:00 am at Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin, TX with Funeral Services to follow immediately at 11:00 am. James will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Apple Springs.
