Janie Beatrice Bonner Gilbert

Graveside services for Janie Beatrice Bonner Gilbert, 91, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the Gilbert Chapel Cemetery in the Bald Hill Community, with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating.

Mrs. Gilbert was born February 15, 1922 in the Odell Community of Angelina County to Sam Bonner and Effie Scott White Bonner. She passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Gilbert was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jim Havard of Lufkin; daughters, Sharon Day and Patsy Johnson, both of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Gilbert of Corpus Christi; son, Darryl Gilbert and fiancée Charlotte Guess of New Philadelphia, Ohio; sister, Cleona Crump of Timpson; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of other family members.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her husband, Garth Gilbert; brothers, Hubert Bonner and Johnny Bonner; sister, Rosalea Walters; and son-in-law, David Lynn Day.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Gilbert’s memory may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75904.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
