

Services for Jimmie Dean Hadaway Tims Byrd, 80, of Apple Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.
Mrs. Byrd was born February 5, 1936 in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Rosa Ethel (Lee) and Jim B. Hadaway. She passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Byrd was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was retired from the Lufkin State School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wells. All of our lives have been blessed and enriched by this beautiful and sweet angel.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Byrd of Apple Springs; son, William “Stan” Tims of Huntington; stepsons, Mike Byrd of Central, Jerry Byrd and wife Terri of Central, who was also a very close friend; grandsons, Jeffrey Michael Tims and William Justin Tims, both of Conroe; sisters, Evelyn Tullos of Apple Springs and Hazel Oldham of Wells; brother, Robert Earl Hadaway of Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her husband, William Tims; and son, Robert Mitchell Tims.
Pallbearers will be Mike Byrd, Jerry Byrd, Jimmy Childress, Danny Tullos, Robert Earl Hadaway and Jake Byrd.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
