Joyce Marie (Roberts) Roberts Collins

Mrs. Collins was born December 14, 1940 in Pineland, Texas and passed away August 19, 2017 in Houston. She was the daughter of the late Velma (Buckley) Westmoreland and R. C. Roberts.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Her dedicated service on the Four Way SUD Board gave her great joy. She was also a member of the Treadwell Cemetery Association. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She could always see the good in people.

Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, J. Lynn Collins of Huntington; daughters, Sue Benson and Donna Hickson and devoted son-in-law Greg Hickson, all of Houston; grandchildren, Gregory Hickson, Tiffany Stanley, Chris Stanbery, Kimberly Benson, LeaAnne Chadwick, Jake Stanbery, Melissa Thomas and Jennifer Hickson; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Gavin, Dalton, Colton, Emily Marie, Jed, Levi, Audrey and Cailyn ; sisters, Mildred Forrest and Margie Tomez and husband Raymond; aunts, Rosa Walker Breedlove and Mary Jane Townsend; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Thank you to our dearest friends who are our extended family for their kindness and support, Luther and Peggy Rains and family and Genaro and Veronica Garza and family.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Collins Stanbery; brother, J. W. Real; and life-long friends, Dot Carroll and Clara Coffey.

Pallbearers will be Greg Hickson, Gregory Hickson, Tommy Carswell, Luther Rains, Dale Kirkland and Genaro Garza.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Smith, Raymond Tomez and Dean Mosley.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
