

Mrs. Bridges was a sweet and honest person. She loved all her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion and was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed crocheting and made hats, booties and afghans, which she donated to the American Legion for the soldiers in Iraq. She also was an avid reader.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Albert Carl Bridges, Jr. and Patricia; son, Samuel H. Bridges of Washington; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelia Bridges Ward and T. C. of Lufkin, Cathryn Bridges Sellers of Lufkin, Tina Diannia (Bridges) Dorsett and Barry of Hutington and Vanita Bridges Ballard of Lufkin; 13 grandchildren, Anna, Tabitha, Charles, David, Tamisha, Candice, Shawn, Christopher, Autumn, Judith, Westley, Nicholas and Fallon; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Daniel Nichols and James Nichols; 3 sisters, Diana Anderson, Carol Ruth Nichols and Paula Nichols; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Glazier Nichols; and her husband, Albert Carl Bridges, Sr.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Bridges will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, with The reverend Arthur A. Callaham officiating.
