Funeral service for Linnie Fae Cook Groover, 82, of Lufkin will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Gipson Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Linnie Fae Groover was born August 24, 1941 in Huntington, Texas to the late Luther Cook and Jessie Laura Duke Cook, and passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at her residence.
Mrs. Groover was the most loving and kindhearted person. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved traveling the world with her husband, Ralph Groover. In her spare time, she loved putting together puzzles, taking pictures with the beautiful flowers in her garden and stopping at the yard sales on walks. Her beautiful smile and loving spirit will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Groover of Lufkin; son, David Turner and wife, Debbie of Lufkin, son, Kenneth “Kenny” Dearmond and wife, Priscilla of Plantersville; daughter, Elizabeth Turner of Lufkin, daughter, Deborah Morado of Corrigan; son, Frank M. Miranda of Corrigan; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dennie Ray Cook of California; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Jessie Laura Duke Cook; son, Lynn Ray Turner; and granddaughter, Sarah Gracie Dearmond.
Pallbearers will be Lance Porter, Russell Overby, Edwin Mejia, Edian Mejia, Miguel Villamil, and Osiel Ramirez.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
