

Mildred Gillikin, 89, of Lufkin, was born April 29, 1921 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Cora (Gann) and Bonner Ernest Ricks. She passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in a Houston hospital.
Mrs. Gillikin was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family very much and was very dedicated to them. She enjoyed needlework and cooking. By nature, she was a caretaker to those around her, and she attributed her long life to "treating everybody right." Mrs. Gillikin was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Luster and Mary Beth Kral, both of Houston; grandchildren, Rev. Larry Luster and wife, Renea' of Daisetta, Michael Luster and wife, Jennifer of Mt. View, Arkansas, Kelly Kral-McDaniel and husband Brian of Houston, Chris Kral of Houston, Ashley Hall and fiancé Anthony Turco of Houston; great-grandchildren, Josh Luster, Bryce Luster, Tyler Luster, Austyn Luster, Maya McDaniel, Jordin McClelland, Noah Hall, and Avery Turco; sisters-in-law, Mary Ricks and Geneva Ricks; and a number of other family members and friends.
Mrs. Gillikin was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles J. Gillikin; sisters, Ethel Currie and Blanche Willis; brothers, Murrell Ricks, Leighton Ricks, Glenn Ricks, Arthur Ricks; and son-in-law, Robert Kral.
Mrs. Gillikin's grandsons, Larry Luster, Mike Luster, Chris Kral, Brian McDaniel, Josh Luster, Tyler Luster and Bryce Luster, will serve as pallbearers.
Services for Mrs. Gillikin will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jim Housley officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
