Mildred Cummings Cummings Hill

Mildred Cummings Hill, 79, of Lufkin, was born August 28, 1930 in Leggett, Texas, the daughter of the late Ellen (Watkins) and Wade Sims Cummings. She passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed keeping up with all the grandchildren and collecting dolls and beads. She was a member of Fuller Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Maurice Hill of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby D. and Judy Hill of Lufkin; sons, Kenneth Dolen Hill of Moffett and Jerry R. Hill of Sweeney; sister, Fayee Hickman of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of other family members.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her son, Stevie Hill; daughter, Cathay Hill; son, David Hill; sisters, Bessie Shotwel Beaty Cummings, Madeline Cummings and Cristeen Cummings; and brothers, Wade Cummings and Robert Cummings.

Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Davey Hill, Jason Kelly, Kevin Johnson, Nathan Hill and Dolen Hill, Jr.

Services for Mrs. Hill will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Thomas Windham officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday- evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
