

Memorial services for Phyllis “Jean” Blankenship Fralick, 85, of Zavalla, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 in the Shady Chapel First United Methodist Church in Zavalla, with Reverend Richard Johnson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Zavalla.
Mrs. Fralick was born September 9, 1928 in East Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of the late Mildred (Parsley) and William Blankenship. She passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Fralick was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
She loved to garden and raised flowers and cactus. She enjoyed reading and was a great cook. She made fantastic plum jelly and the world’s best coconut cream pie. Her greatest joy was her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine McArthur and partner Derrell Tinsley of Zavalla; sons, William Lev Fralick, Jr., of Farmington, Illinois and Richard “Rick” Fralick and partner Ginny Waters of Green Valley, Arizona; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Jerry Blankenship and wife Marlyn of Elmwood, Illinois; and sister, Deloris Hirst of Dexster, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fralick was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Fralick, Sr. in 1994; great-grandson, Cody Fralick; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
