

Services for Rachel Frost, 88, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with The Reverend Arthur A. Callaham officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Frost was born November 21, 1925 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Rosie Virginia (Gilbert) and Tom Henry Duke. She passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Mrs. Frost was a homemaker while her children were young and then worked as a secretary at Trout Elementary School for many years. Prior to that, she was an administrative assistant for the Renfro, Zeleskey Law Firm. She loved to travel and enjoyed quilting, reading, and especially being with her family. She was a member of the Retired Teachers’ Association and local quilting clubs. Mrs. Frost was a charter member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karen Frost of Lake Charles, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bill Irwin of Houston; grandchildren, Kristy Christiansen and husband Gregg of Houston, Greg Frost and wife Lia of Lufkin, Kelly Frost of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Sarah Saucedo and husband Caleb of Ft. Worth, and Kimberly Irwin of Houston; great-grandchildren, Annaliese Hartman, Noelle Hartman, Emma Christiansen, Ava Christiansen, all of Houston, and Allie Jo Frost of Lufkin; brother, Woodrow Wilson of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Frost was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Frost; and sister, Winnie Spencer.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Saucedo, Gregg Christiansen, Brent Parker, Mike Harbuck, Pat Nicholson, and Ken Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darin Simpson, Joe Daniel, Ed Cotten, and R. H. Miller.
The family wants to extend a special thank you the Pinecrest Staff located in the George Henderson building, the many who cared for her in the Woodland Heights ICU, as well as those who ministered to her at Hospice in the Pines.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
