

Services for Rose Lee Burnette, 89, of Lufkin, were held on Friday, November 11, 2016 in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 5205 S. First Street, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel, with Doyle Bruce officiating. Eulogy was offered by Neil Kemper. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Burnette was born December 22, 1926 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Willie Mae (Bruce) and Martin Junyus Parrish. She passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Burnette loved to be around family and staying busy. She especially loved her New Orleans Saints. She was employed at Lufkin Industries many years ago. She enjoyed watching her blue birds and hummingbirds. Mrs. Burnette was a member of Angelina Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve McKnight of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandchildren, Dane Burnette and wife Jennifer, Ryan Burnette and wife Arriana, Jennifer McKnight; adopted grandson, Bobby Garrett and wife Belinda; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Burnette, Hunter Burnette, Stephen Neveu, Nicole Neveu, Gage Burnette, Coulter Burnette, Braden Burnette, Colin Guillory, and Regan Guillory; and daughter-in-law, Marcella Burnette.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burnette was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Charles Burnette in 1995; and her son, Joseph Dane Burnette in 2004.
