

Funeral service for Shirley Blackburn, 82, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:30pm in Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Elwyn Gipson Chapel of Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Blackburn was born March 23, 1942 in Malakoff, Texas, daughter of the late Naomi (Ford) and Murray Noble. She passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 in the Southland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include husband George Blackburn of Lufkin; children, Carol Blackburn of Diboll, Joe Blackburn and wife, Debra of Lufkin, and Georgia Beam of Lufkin; grandchildren, Tony Beam II and wife Maddie, Tanya Scott and husband, Kevin, David Weatherly, Brandon Weatherly, and Cory Penick; great-grandchildren, Briana Scott, Nathan Scott, Emily Scott, and Dyaln Scott; sisters-in-law, Linda Noble, Marie Noble, and Mary Blackburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Loretta Noble; brothers, Murray Noble, Jr. and Richard Noble; and son-in-law, Tony Beam.
Pallbearers will be Tony Beam II, David Weatherly, Brandon Weatherly, Kevin Scott, Robert Raines, and Charles Raines. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Blackburn.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
