Susie Delores Conner, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2026, in Jacksonville, Texas, at the age of 88. She was born on January 24, 1938, to Barto and Irene (Ford) Graham.
Susie’s life was one of love, generosity, and creativity. She will be remembered for her artistic talents, her nurturing heart, and her unwavering devotion to family and faith. Her hands were rarely still—whether crafting pottery, painting, creating color pencil art, or tending to her beautiful floral gardens. She also enjoyed raising livestock and baby calves, watching birds and squirrels, playing bingo, and treating herself to a fresh manicure and hairstyle. One of her greatest joys was gospel singing from her Bonita Street Church.
Above all, Susie loved her family deeply. She was a steadfast presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always ready to offer care, comfort, and laughter. Her home and heart were open not only to family but also to neighborhood friends who came to know her warmth and kindness.
Susie is survived by her daughter, Ava Norton of Bullard, TX; her son, Tommy Conner and wife Michele of Lufkin, TX; grandchildren Katie Largent (Justin) of Lufkin, Paige Calhoun (Seth) of Longview, Josh Branson (Tori) of Lufkin, Amber Shante of Lufkin, and Johnny Conner Jr of Leesville, LA, and Ashley Conner of Annacocoa, LA; her brother Bobby Graham of Lufkin; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Benita, Roxanne Graham, Vinnie Graham, and brother-in-law Clifton Foster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved sons Johnny Conner Sr. and Allen Norton, brothers Donny Graham, Paul Graham, Benny (B.G.) Graham, Billy Graham, sisters Glenda Foster, Patsy Gossett, and Opal Gayle Whitworth, and brothers-in-law Robert Gossett and Melvin Whitworth.
