

Thelma Jean Miller, 85, of Lufkin, was born Thelma Jean Foster on April 15, 1926 in rural Arkansas. She passed away suddenly in her home on Friday, November 4, 2011. Mrs. Miller was the daughter of Ethel and Henry Foster of Goodrich, Texas.
She was married to Grimes "Sidney" Miller for 55 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lufkin and a dedicated volunteer with the local VFW. Mrs. Miller had a lifelong passion for fishing.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice Jeanette Bohon and Stanley Leo Bohon of Lufkin; her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Trudie Miller of Huntington; 3 grandchildren, John Miller of Lufkin, Deborah Ham of Huntington and Zachery Bohon of Nacogdoches; 5 great-grandchildren, Rebecca Ham, Jessica Ham, Justin Ham, Bruce Miller, Westly Miller; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grimes "Sidney" Miller in 2003; and 4 brothers, Rosco, Virgil, Joe and H. R. Foster.
Pallbearers were Roy Miller, Darryl Mullins, Paul Mullins, John Miller, Jason Ham and Zachery Bohon.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery, Holly Grove Community, near Livingston, Texas. Please meet at the cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
