Thomas Lester Flowers

Services for Thomas Lester Flowers, 89, of Diboll, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Ryan and Mardy Guidry officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Flowers was born December 6, 1926 in Colmesneil, Texas, the son of the late Jennie (Wigley) and Thomas Lesley Flowers. He died Monday, April 18, 2016 at his residence.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-laws, Joe and Connie Flowers of Lufkin and Jimmy and Mae Flowers of Point Blank; daughters and son-in-law, Joyce Burrous of Diboll, Doris Hammack of Lufkin and Christene and Calvert Lowry of Diboll; 16 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Cloyd of Woodville; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Earl Flowers; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and his brother, RB Flowers.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Flowers Jr., David Burrous, Jason Burrous, Jeff Hammack, Jim Hammack, and Cody Murrey.

Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Flowers.

His family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staffs of Hospice in the Pines, Larkspur Transitional Care, and Woodland Heights Medical Center for the loving care shown to him.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
