Tommie Elmer Christie

Mrs. Christie was born February 27, 1918 in Chireno, Texas to parents, Lawrence Barnes and Laura Elizabeth Hart Barnes.

Mrs. Christie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Fred Christie; brothers, Richard "Dick" Barnes, J.I. Barnes, Billy Barnes; her twin sister, Johnnie Barnes Smith; daughters, Nelda Lucille Sellers and Wanda Beasley; and son-in-law, Andrew Beasley.

Mrs. Christie is survived by her daughter, Melba Louise Christie of Mena, Arkansas; son, James "Jim" Christie of Mena, Arkansas; son, Tommy Wayne Christie and wife Barbara of Escondido, California; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at Gipson Funeral Home.
