Vera L Carr

Mrs. Carr was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed working in her yard and cooking for her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Diboll and was very active in her church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Joyce Carr of Lufkin and Ray and Linda Carr of Port Neches; grandchildren, Ray and Cathie Carr, Cathy and Ralph Isham, Evelyn and Mark Walker, Deborah and Gene Cox, Steven Carr, Megan and Samuel Byrd and Sarah Carr; 19 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Carr; brother, Aubry "Bud" Burk; and sister, Eula Burk.

Pallbearers will be Ray Carr, Ralph Isham, Mark Walker, Gene Cox, Stephen Carr and Joe Miranda.

Mrs. Carr's great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Services for Mrs. Carr will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Gene Hazell officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
