Virginia G. (Caldwell) Campbell

Services for Virginia (Caldwell) Campbell, 76, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Reverend Richard Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Campbell was born May 9, 1937 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Gladys (Hardy) and David Caldwell. She passed away December 13, 2013 in a local hospital.

She retired from Lufkin Independent School District where she had been employed as a secretary and had many friends there. She was a loving homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a member of Lufkin’s First United Methodist Church o for many years. She enjoyed her dogs and going on trips in the RV with her husband.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Laura Campbell of Katy; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Tim Cullen of Lufkin; granddaughters, Ryan Milligan of Lufkin, Kailyn Campbell and Kylie Campbell of Katy; sister, Mary Banks of Sugarland; sister-in-law, Jean Caldwell of Bedford; niece, Carol Kincaid; nephews, David Caldwell, John Caldwell and Glenn Caldwell, all of Dallas; niece, Karen Treybig of Sugarland; and numerous other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry B. Campbell; brother, Robert Caldwell; brother-in-law, Joe F. Banks; and niece, Mary Jo Penny.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Penny, Mike Treybig, Rex McEntire, Tim Cullen, Ted Villareal, Jeff Campbell, David Caldwell, John Caldwell, Glenn Caldwell and Deke Kincaid.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 412 South Third Street, Lufkin, TX 75901 or to Lufkin’sFirst United Methodist Church, 805 East Denman, Lufkin, TX 75901.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
