Wanda Jo Powell Carr

Wanda Jo Powell Carr, 80, of Etoile, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 in a Diboll nursing facility. She was born February 9, 1939 in Trinity County, Texas to the late Syble (King) and Woodrow Powell. Mrs. Carr had a huge love for flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by anyone who knew her.

Jo is survived by her husband, Charles Carr of Etoile; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Engia Carr of Diboll; son, Floyd Wright of Groveton; sister, Nora Jane of Trinity; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Buddy Ray Wilkins; and brother, James Woodrow Powell.

The family will have a private memorial service in the Sunset Mausoleum in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park at a later date.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
