

Mrs. Rand was born on July 1, 1925 in Lockport, Kentucky to the late Morris and Goldie Hall. For almost sixty years, Willie was the beloved wife of the late Rolle R. Rand.
Devoted Presbyterians, the Rands were members of The First Presbyterian Church in Lufkin.
Mrs. Rand was a graduate of The Robert Powers School of Modeling, appearing as a model on television and in various publications. Following her successful modeling career, Mrs. Rand was a professional bridal consultant. She cherished animals, possessed many creative talents, including sewing, arts, crafts, and gourmet cooking.
Mrs. Rand was the sister-in-law of the late Faith-Hope Kahn and the late Dr. Edward Kahn; and the aunt of the late Paula Amy Kahn.
Mrs. Rand is survived by her niece, Ellen Fox of Cambridge, Massachusetts; dear friend, Spencer Wootton of Riverdale, New Jersey; niece, Faith Abrams and husband Barry of Palm Bay, Florida; great niece, Jennifer Fox Ishihara and husband Hideaki of Las Vegas, Nevada; and great-great nephews, Ryden and Zephyr Ishihara.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gipson Funeral Home.
The funeral for Mrs. Rand will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at The First Presbyterian Church, 607 Janeway Avenue, Lufkin. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Rand’s family requests that remembrances be made in thanksgiving to PineCrest Special Care, 1302 Tom Temple Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
