

He was born in Lynn to the late Thomas J. and Delia (Durgin) Waldron and attended the Lynn Public Schools. Pearl Harbor happened during his senior year at Lynn English High School and upon graduation he served with the United States Army in the South Pacific.
After his return from the war, he continued to serve God and community, for the rest of his life. There was a special bond with his classmates from that first wartime class and he served on the Class of ‘ 42 Reunion Committee for the next seventy years. He was President of the Lynn School Department Employees Local #1736 and retired as Supervisor of Maintenance for Lynn School Department. He volunteered as Vice Chairman of the Lynn Redevelopment Authority, served on the Pine Grove Cemetery Commission and the Lynn Woods Executive Commission. Albie was a member of the Knights of Columbus #70 Valladolid, the Hibernians, the Holy Family Church Holy Name Society and the Meadowlarks. He enjoyed umpiring both baseball and softball games and was part of the North Shore Umpires Association and the American Amateur Softball Association. He retired as a Lynn School Crossing guard at the age of 89. He travelled around the world, but always thought the prettiest view was the one along Lynn Shore Drive.
Albert is survived by his devoted daughter Donna W. Deegan and her husband James of Swampscott, his cherished granddaughter Erin Deegan, and her husband Douglass Cuff of Beverly, and his beloved great granddaughter Caroline. He delighted in being “Uncle Albie” to four generations of Waldron and Trahant nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Albert is predeceased by his siblings Joseph, John, and Thomas Leo Waldron and Margaret Trahant.
A socially distanced visitation will take place at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey St., Swampscott from 9:30-10:30 followed immediately by a funeral mass and Interment at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn on Monday October 4, 2021. Please wear a mask.
