

Carol Ann D’Entremont, age 76, of Lynn, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Lahey Hospital after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Flattery) D’Entremont. Carol leaves behind her loving brother Edward “Ed” with whom she resided with.
Carol was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn. After graduation, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching from Salem State College. During her academic years in high school and college, she participated in the chorus.
Carol’s first job teaching was at St. Pius Elementary School, where she taught for one year. From there, Carol started the job that would fulfill her life, she taught at Aborn Elementary School in the Lynn Public School System for the remainder of her career and she enjoyed every day. Every second grader wanted to have Carol as their teacher. If you were lucky enough to have Carol for a teacher, you would have experienced her love for her students and the confidence that she instilled in them in the most gentle of ways. She experienced great pleasure from all of her students and she could recall all of her former students. Teaching brought great joy to her. She also worked part time at Filene’s until they closed and was then transferred to Macy’s where she worked a combined 25 years.
While working, Carol continued her education earning a Master’s Degree of Education from Salem State College.
She had a love for the theater, musicals, ballet, and enjoyed going to many shows.
Carol looked forward to her yearly summer trips to Vermont. She visited the National Zoo in Washington many times and enjoyed visiting the numerous animals there but, the pandas were always her favorite. Her love of animals inspired her to adopt 2 rescue cats, Simba and Xavier, whom she cherished dearly.
A Visitation for Carol will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her Funeral Mass will be held the following morning, Tuesday September 3, 2024 at 10:30 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 Grove Street, Lynnfield. Burial to follow at St. Jean’s Cemetery, Lynn.
