Charles R. Starnes

Born in Croydon, PA, Charles was the son of the late Ambrose C. and Mary E. (Macauley) Starnes.

A resident of Saugus, Charles was very active in the Freedom Hill Community Church, formerly known as Northshore Assembly of God. He worked at Hanscom Air Force Base his entire career. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Charles is survived by his daughters; Diane Walkey and her husband Steven, Ruthann Rao and her husband Ramesh, and Joyce Gaglini and her husband Mark. He was the loving Grandfather of Adam Roberts and his wife Kristine, Matthew Roberts and his wife Sarah, Brian Roberts, Stephanie Gaglini and Tejas Rao. Charles was the devoted Great Grandfather of Aiden and Liam Roberts. He was the brother of Blanche Howard, Joy Howard, and Leona Clattenburg. Charles is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard, Edward, and Arthur Starnes, and Joanne Swartzlander, and Jeanne Oberlander.

Charles’ Funeral Service will be held at the Freedom Hill Community Church, 77 Kennedy Dr., Malden, MA 02148, on Thursday May 21, 2015 at 11AM. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8PM at the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME 157 Maple St., Lynn, MA 01904. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
