

Lynn – Charles G. “Charlie” Anastos, 83, of Lynn died Sunday, September 11th, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Marie B. (McHugh) Anastos. Charlie and Marie were fortunate to have enjoyed 62 years of marriage together.
A lifelong Lynn resident, he was the son of the late George and Beatrice (Tavoularis) Anastopoulos, and the son in law of the late John and Mary (McDonough) McHugh.
Charlie enjoyed repairing things and loved watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He worked as a TV repairman for many years at RG Len’s, RCA, and Sears, before retiring in 1996 Charlie served our country during the Korean War as an Airman with the United Stated Air Force.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, #70, Valladolid Council in Lynn.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Marie; Daughter Mary Theresa Anastos of Naples, FL; Son Charlie Anastos and his wife Nancy Grandson – Dan Anastos and his wife Laurel; Granddaughter Laura Anastos and her boyfriend Tim LeDuc; Great-grandaughter, Lily Anastos, all of Peabody; Sister Annie Anastos of Lynn; Brothers in law, Mike McHugh of Middleton, and Stephen “Jimmy” McHugh and his wife Jodie of PA; Sisters in law, Dorothy and Ginger Anastos and Stella Anastopoulos, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his good buddy Vinnie Finnochio.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Christina Anastos; brothers Peter and Philip Anastos, Clay Anastopoulos and his dear sister in law Margaret McHugh.
Charlie’s funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30am from the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St. Danvers, MA 01923 would be greatly appreciated.
