

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Cheryl Bonin, who went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2026, at the age of 81. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in North Conway, NH.
Born in Lynn, MA, Cheryl was the daughter of the late William and Carrie “Wilma” Norris.
Cheryl was the devoted wife of her late husband, Thomas Bonin, with whom she shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. In August 2024, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony officiated by their son-in-law, Minister M. Will Webster—a cherished memory for Cheryl and her family.
She was the loving mother of Michael Dukett of North Conway, NH, Serena Webster of North Conway, NH, and Kristy Bonin of Chelsea, MA, Cheryl was also the proud Nana of her beloved granddaughter, Destiny Scanzillo, affectionately known as “her Destiny.”
Cheryl was predeceased by her sister Sharon Laurenza and her brother-in-law Dominic Laurenza Jr. She is survived by her much-loved sisters-in-law, Emelie Bonin, Cecile Zielinski and her husband Robert, Marie Folan-Escott, Lucy Bonin and brother-in-law Raymond Bonin. She was both an aunt and a great aunt to multiple nieces and nephews, and a great-great aunt to Ava, James, and Aniyah.
Cheryl grew up in Lynn and Swampscott, MA, graduating from Swampscott High School. After graduation she worked at the army base in Boston, MA until she met and married Tom. They raised their family in Lynn, MA where Cheryl stayed home to care for her children and later was employed at Greater Lynn Senior Services where she retired after 20 years.
After retirement, Cheryl and her husband moved to North Conway, NH where they resided for the past 12 years. Cheryl referred to her experience living in the mountains of North Conway, NH as God’s country.
Cheryl will be remembered for her boundless love of family, her gentle spirit, and her newfound faith. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures— cats and dogs, horses, dancing, the beach, bowling, bingo, browsing the aisles of Zeb’s General Store, socializing with almost everyone in town, and collecting owls. A devoted country music fan, she especially loved “God’s Country” by Blake Shelton, a song that reflected her deep appreciation for faith, nature, and home. Cheryl recently attended a Blake Shelton concert that her daughters took her to which she immensely enjoyed. She especially enjoyed her drives down West Side Rd. in North Conway, listening to music by her longtime favorite pop star, the late Michael Jackson. Her warmth, incredible strength, sense of humor, and kindness touched everyone she met, and her memory will forever be a blessing.
A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held in the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. in Lynn at 11am followed by interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
