

Dan was born in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Regina (Shachok) Hourihan and the late Daniel William Hourihan. Dan was a graduate of Lynn English High School and Salem State College.
A long time employee of the Lynn Public School System, Dan served first as a teacher at the former Eastern Junior High School, and after a few years in the private sector, he returned to the Lynn Public School System and served as the Financial Manager for many years until his retirement.
Dan enjoyed fishing, spending time on his boat, golfing, attending Red Sox Spring Training games, traveling, and especially, his Florida home.
Dan leaves behind his wife Patricia Hourihan, a retired long-time educator and English Department Head at Lynn Classical High School, his son Shawn Hourihan, and his daughters Erin LeColst, and Kelly Hourihan. He also leaves his beloved granddaughter, Emma LeColst, his niece Patricia Sweet, his nephews Stephen Prunier, and Bradley Prunier, and several great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins and friends. He was the brother of the late Brian Hourihan.
Dan’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8PM. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
