

Don was the son of the late Wallace Comeau, Sr. and Dorothy (Japp) Young.
He attended the Lynn Schools and graduated from Lynn Trade School (“Lynn Tech”) in 1963, where he played varsity basketball and varsity football.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany for 2 years. When he returned home, he continued his education and graduated from Salem State College. He briefly worked as a social worker in the Lynn Schools and then went on to work as a machinist foreman at the G.E. until his retirement.
In his retirement, Don met Dianne Geaney, who became his life partner of 19 years. They moved to Nahant, where they enjoyed walking the beaches, golfing and traveling together.
Don was a proud member of the Lynn Shoe City Golf League at Gannon Golf Course, where he reconnected with old friends. He also gave his time as a Board Member at The Lynn Home for Elderly Persons on Atlantic Terrace.
Don leaves behind his children, Denise Comeau and her companion Daniel O’Neill, Greg Comeau, Jeff Comeau and his wife Shannon Comeau and his grandchildren, Daniel and Emma O’Neill and Lily and Miles Comeau; his stepchildren Lori and Barry Henderson and Danielle LaCroix and his step grandchildren, Taylor and Faith Henderson and Zellie and Credance LaCroix.
He also leaves behind Dianne’s children, Rick and Chris Geaney and their daughters, Emily and fiancée Anthony and Megan and fiancée Cam and Beth and Lou Pento and their daughters, Mia and Emma who proudly introduced Don as their “grandfather-in-law”!
He adored all 12 of his grandchildren and loved to share stories about all the time he spent with them.
In addition, Don leaves behind his two beloved brothers, Wally and Steve Comeau, whom he also loved to share many great stories of times they had together as well.
He is predeceased by his former wife Joyce (Barros) Comeau and his sister-in-law, Nancy Comeau.
Don will be greatly missed by everyone that had the privilege to know him as the gentle, kind man that he was.
Donald’s visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home. His funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s memory to The Lynn Home for Elderly Persons, 1 Atlantic Terrace, Lynn, MA 01902.
