Donald Thompson Cross Jr.

Donald Thompson Cross, Jr., age 86, passed away peacefully at Salem Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by loving family on December 27, 2021. He was the devoted husband to Anne P. (Nagle) Cross for 57 glorious years.

Donald was born on September 13th, 1935 to the late Donald Thompson Cross Sr. and Olive I. (Berry) Cross. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School and enjoyed being a part of the baseball team during those years. Following high school, Donald proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He remained a lifelong resident of Lynn.

Donald was a very hard worker. He retired as a Field Worker with Keyspan, formally known as the Boston Gas Company. He enjoyed playing golf, was a huge Red Sox fan, and followed all sports games.

Donald is the loving and dedicated father to Donald T. Cross of Lynn, Brian J. Cross of Webster, Robert D. Cross (Antonina) of Lynn, and Michael P. Cross (Emily) of Lynn. Donald was the grandfather to the beloved Brian J. Cross, Jr., the precious Victoria A. Cross, and step-grandson Michael Carnevale. He will be remembered by his sister in law, Sr. Mary Nagle CSJ.

He is predeceased by his son Kevin M. Cross.

Friends and Family are welcome to attend Donald’s visitation on Thursday, December 30th, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn. A prayer service will be follow at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
