

Doris V. O’Brien, 97, of Lynn, Massachusetts passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the Abbott Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Lynn. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Enos R. and Carrie (Smith) Crowell. Doris worked as a baker for many years for the Lynnfield School Department before retiring. She was known by her family for baking the best apple pies in the world.
She is survived by her son, Ronald W. O’Brien of Lynn, 3 daughters: Diane M. Fanning of Lynn, Karen L. Emmett of Swampscott, and Kathleen A. Spinney and her husband Donald of Berwick, Maine. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary D. O’Brien, her husband, William O’Brien and her great grandchild, Calin Lee Harris.
Visiting hours will take place in the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St Lynn on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 3-7 pm with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home at 7pm. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11am in the WW II section of Pine Grove Cemetery. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
