Edward A. Hobson

Edward A. Hobson, age 86 years, of Saint Johns, FL, formerly of Peabody and Lynn died Thursday Oct. 17th at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek after a brief illness. He was the husband of Carol F. (Miller) Hobson with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Following high school he joined the United Staes Air Force and served his country from 1955 – 1961. Ed was employed as a Logistics Engineer at FEDEX for many years until he retired in December of 1999. Ed enjoyed painting, traveling, watching the Red Sox, and loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by one daughter, Karen and her husband Bobby Nickelson, of Saint Johns, FL; one son Steven and his wife, Louann Hobson, of Counce, TN; and one grandson, Garrett Nickelson, of Charlotte, NC. He was also brother-in-law of the late Janet and her husband Kenneth Nugent formerly of Peabody.

Service Details: Ed’s Visting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM to which relatives are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Please make memorial donations in Ed’s name to Alzheimer's Foundation of America
