God has called our sweet Edwin home. Edwin S. Bravo sadly passed away at 28 years old on Monday October 16th, 2017. He was taken too soon from us and so suddenly. Edwin was born in Long Beach California on April 25th, 1989 a date in which he shares a birthday with his surviving grandmother Carmela and his surviving mother Dora Bravo whose birthday is one day later on April 26, 1972. He was very excited and happy to be expecting another child and was working as a laborer in the construction business in Malden, MA. Edwin had an amazing and huge heart; he was always willing to give a helping hand to his family and friends that would be in need. He always carried himself with a positive attitude no matter the difficulties he has faced in his short life. His family was his life, and he was our life. Edwin never failed to remind us how much he loved us. Especially after every phone call, he made sure to always say “I love you” and “take care” before hanging up and give you these enormous hugs whenever he saw you. He loved to play video games, and watch Dragon Ball Z with his surviving younger brother Marlon Bravo. He really enjoyed listening to oldies music, Corridos, and he loved listening to Tupac and Biggie Smalls then sing the songs with his siblings.
Besides listening to music, he loved to make his own freestyle raps. But most importantly he LOVED food, especially Ramen Noodles and siracha. He was a kid at heart and truly one of a kind. He was so silly and could make anyone laugh. Edwin loved to spend time with girlfriend Karina Morales and her family as they did family oriented activities every Sunday. Edwin leaves behind his younger sisters Doris 25 and Klavelly 12, his brother Marlon 23, his daughter Sharlyne 8, and baby Bravo on the way in May of 2018. Edwin grew up with his surviving cousins Janine & Carlos whom he loved very much. Edwin enjoyed writing out people’s names, letters and drawings as a hobby. He also loved going to the movies. But one of Edwin’s absolute favorite things to do was getting micheladas with his mother Dora. Ironically that is that last memory they were able to share together before his passing. Edwin’s favorite type of weather was rain and snow; if he was able to sleep in on days like that he made sure to make the best of it and always wanted to order Pizza in those specific days. He was known as “Chino” because he looked Asian and people were always surprised when he spoke Spanish, that’s what attracted girlfriend Karina in the first place.
Edwin will always be remembered as a great and humble man who was able to turn his life around and straighten up to be a better person. We will never forget how caring and loving he was, also that infectious smile of his that could light up any room. “We will miss you dearly Edwin. May you rest in Heaven, and may you and your beautiful heart be at peace. We love you so much.”
Edwin’s family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 3-7 pm at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904. His funeral service will take place on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Guests are requested to arrive between 10 – 10:15 am. Burial will follow the service in Pine Grove Cemetery, 145 Boston Street in Lynn.
