

Mr. Francis J. “Frank” Decker, Sr., age 87, of Peabody formerly of Lynn, died Wednesday morning in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Mitchell) Decker.
Born in East Boston, Francis was the son of the late Jack and Mary (Terrill) Hurley. He was raised in Salem, was a graduate of Salem Vocational High School Class of 1941, and resided in Lynn for most of his life.
He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during World War II, being honorably discharged in 1946.
Prior to his retirement, Frank spent over 42 years as an Assembler for the GE Riverworks. He enjoyed playing bingo and attending family gatherings.
Frank leaves his children, Maureen Johnson and her husband Gary of Durham, CT and Francis J. Decker, Jr. and his wife Lynne of Duxbury. He was the Grandfather of Dennis, Erik and Craig Johnson, Kerri Cocharen and Joseph and Emily Decker. He was the Great Grandfather of Hayden Johnson and Tyler Johnson and is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his longtime companion, Maria Roney and her family. He was the brother of the late Peter and John Decker, Leo Hurley, Marion Riley, Christine Callahan, Anna Sullivan and Dorothy Hurley.
Frank’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple St. LYNN on Saturday at 8:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Pius V Church at 9:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Saint Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8PM. Gifts in Frank’s name may be sent to the Home for Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115.
