

Mr. Francis E. Stewart, age 84, of Lynn, died on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Mary T. (Coburn) Stewart of Chelsea, with whom in August he would have shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Rita (Sousa) Stewart, a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School in 1957, and he also served with the Army National Guard Reserve, entering boot camp at Fort Dix in 1960 and honorably discharged in 1968. He worked for the Middlesex County with the Registry of Deeds as a Draftsman for over 50 years. Francis was a devout Catholic and was a long-time communicant of St. Pius V Church. He and his wife Mary enjoyed visiting their summer cabin in New Vineyard, Maine.
He was a devoted family man, who is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his sons: John Stewart of Woonsocket, RI, Frederick Stewart of Lynn, Tom Stewart and his wife Laura of Dunstable, and Edward Stewart and his wife Heather of Rockport, he is also survived by his five grandchildren: Olivia and Jack Stewart, Abigail and Cora Stewart, and Lowell Thomas Stewart.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. His Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
