Fredie L. Burton

Fredie was a lifelong resident of Lynn. After graduating from Lynn English High School with the class of 1981, he enlisted in the US Air Force where he honorably served as an Aerospace Mechanic from 1981 to 1987. After leaving the military he transferred those skills into a 25-year career as a Refrigeration Mechanic at West Lynn Creamery, then went on to work at Old Neighborhood Foods until 2021.

Fredie was an avid soccer player and youth coach. He was an animal lover and began collecting rare fish from a young age and continued to do so throughout his life. When you think of Fredie, remember his gentle spirit, love of music, passion for dancing, and sense of humor.

Fredie is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Terry Burton, Sr. of Tyrone, GA, brother Mr. Frank (Robin) Burton, Jr., of Powder Springs, GA, sister Miss Lori Burton, of Fairburn, GA, nephews Justin (Melicia) McCarthy of Lynn, MA, Trevon Burton-Roberts of Fairburn, GA, a niece Alexa Llera of Jacksonville, FL and stepchildren, Jesse Connolly, and Jenna Joy. He was a father figure to John Akeley and Justin Ewing. He was preceded in death by his brother Timothy Burton of Lynn, MA.

He was loved and will be dearly missed by his longtime friend Jill Vandurme and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
