

Mrs. Helen T. (Leszczynski) Phelps, age 90, of Lynn, died suddenly on Sunday morning, August 29, 2010 in a local nursing home. She was the wife of the late John “Rusty” Maloney of Lynn and the late Norman Phelps of East Hartford, CT.
Born in Salem, Helen was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Woytas) Leszczynski. She attended Salem Schools.
Prior to her retirement in 1990, Helen had worked for Whyte’s Enterprise Laundry of Lynn. She belonged to the St. Mary’s Tenant’s Assoction and enjoyed taking day trips and participating in a myriad of social events. She was also an avid reader.
She leaves her son, John Maloney and his wife Carol of Lynn; 2 grandchildren, Marc Maloney and his wife Lyda of Hollis, ME and Kevin Maloney and his wife Margaret of Natick, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Walter Leszczynski of Salem and Caroline Ouillette of Beverly.
Family and Friends are kindly invited to visit with the family on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30AM in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME 157 Maple St. Lynn to be followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church at 11:00AM. Interment will be private. Gifts in Helen’s memory may be sent to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
