Janet A. ""Jan"" Nugent

Mrs. Janet "Jan" Nugent, age 68 years, of Peabody, and Ft. Myers, FL, died unexpectedly Wednesday May 7, at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Ft. Myers, after being stricken at home. She was the wife of Kenneth R. Nugent, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys (Staples) Miller. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from L. E. H. S., Class of 1963. She received an Associate's Degree from North Shore Community College, and also graduated from Burdett Secretarial School. Jan was employed by the City of Lynn, as a secretary at Eastern and Pickering Jr. High Schools, and then as Head Clerk at the School Administration Building until she retired in 2002. Jan was a member of the former Broadway United Methodist Church, and member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lynn, and the Red Hats in FT Myers, FL. She enjoyed knitting, reading and going to yard sales. In addition to her husband she is survived by one sister Carol and her husband Edward Hobson of Waxhaw, NC, one nephew Steven Hobson of Cordova, TN, one niece Karen and her husband Bobby Nickelson of Waxhaw, NC, one great nephew Garrett Nickelson of Waxhaw, NC, and many cousins. Services Details: Funeral services will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Tuesday at 10:30 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
