Jeannette Marie (Landry) Sullivan, 93 of Lynn passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Lynn Home for Elderly Persons. She was born in Lynn, MA on November 7, 1932, the daughter of the late Leandre and Roseanne (Arsenault) Landry.
Her parents immigrated to Lynn, MA from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, Canada. She was a communicant of Saint Jean-Baptiste Church and attended school there as well, before moving on to boarding school. Jeannette attended the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. On August 9, 1959 she married John D. Sullivan of Lynn. Together they had five children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Jeannette worked at Lynn Hospital for many years until it closed. She then worked at Union Hospital until she retired. During her Nursing career she made many lifelong friends. After retirement she continued to volunteer at Union Hospital in the oncology unit. Jeannette was a member of the Lynn School of Nursing Alumni Association. She attended mass daily at Saint Pius V, volunteered in the office, and was also a Eucharistic Minister.
Jeannette was very sociable and traveled often with her family and friends. For decades she played cards every Friday night with the “French Navy” as our Dad called it. She was in multiple card games during the week and loved to gamble often going to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. She was a mall walker at the North Shore Mall where she met a wonderful group of people who became life-long friends.
Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially traveling to St. John USVI, Las Vegas, Chicago, cruising to Canada, as well as trips to Ireland and England. She taught her grandchildren to swim, ride a bike, play cards, make coffee milk, and do Root Beer shots at “Sullivans Lounge”. These memories are priceless, and she will be missed greatly.
