Joanne M. Williams

LYNN- Mrs. Joanne M. (Kossivas) Williams, 78, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on Thursday, February 15th. Joanne was the beloved wife of the late Richard D. “Red” Williams with whom she shared 38 years.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late John Kossivas and Anne (McEachern) Bennett; the loving mother of Kathy A. Sisson and Richard D. Williams, Jr. both of Lynn; the cherished grandmother of Jessica Sisson-Baetzel and Dan Baetzel of Lynn, Tina and Kelly Whitten of Salem and Richard D. Williams, III and Courtney Leone of Peabody, and great grandmother of Jason Day, Richard D. Williams, IV and Corey Williams; the dear sister of the late Peter Kossivas and Helen Pratt and the adoring aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Joanne graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn with the Class of 1956. Joanne owned and operated R.D. Williams & Son, Inc. first with her husband and then with her son, Richard, Jr. for over 35 years until she sold it in 2006. Joanne enjoyed traveling with her husband to many places, including the Caribbean. She loved spending time with her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking them on many trips.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21st , in the funeral home prior to the funeral.
