

He was the beloved son of the late William (Billy) and Ellen Maggs. He leaves behind his loving sister, Jennifer Maggs; his brother, Jesse Maggs, and sister-in-law, Angela; and his cherished nephews, Jesse Jr. and Joel. He was also the devoted and proud dad to his beloved cat, Gary, who was his constant companion for many years. John is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
John was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Merrimack College, where he formed lifelong friendships that meant the world to him. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to those friends for the unwavering love and support they showed John throughout his life. He later earned his MBA from Bentley University.
John began his professional career in the business world before discovering his true passion in the restaurant industry. He had a natural gift for hospitality and found great joy in connecting with people. Over the years, he built lasting relationships with colleagues and regular guests alike, especially during his time at Solea. Whether behind the bar or sharing conversation, John made everyone feel welcome.
He had a deep love for travel and music. Self-taught on the guitar, John spent countless evenings playing for friends or performing at local gigs, bringing people together through his music. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, creating memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love.
John will be remembered for his generous spirit, his easy smile, and the genuine connections he made throughout his life. John will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
