LYNN—Jose Ismael Marroquin, age 69, passed away unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Josefina Marroquin, with whom he shared over 54 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in San Salvador, El Salvador on November 18, 1951, he was a son of Dario Marroquin and Emma A. Alfaro. Before retiring Jose worked as a Print Specialist at Harvard Law School.
Jose retired from work life and took up being chauffer to his wife. He took advantage of every moment he could to spend with the love of his life and would shuttle her to and from work, making sure she had door to door service. When he didn’t spend time with her, he was an avid news junkie and a fan of “Love it or List it.” He was a storyteller and loved gathering with his family and sharing and preserving family memories and traditions. He loved taking pictures to capture all the special moments he experienced with his loved ones. He felt it was important to maintain a connection with his mother, his siblings and his adored grandchildren that were sprinkled all over the country. He was a father figure to his nieces and nephews and loved mentoring the younger generations helping them to realize they are all leaders. Among all the other important life lessons Jose imparted he was a firm believer that all children should learn to whistle.
Along with his adoring wife and mother, Jose is survived by his children Carlos, Leonardo, Edwin and Xiomara, his brother Melvin Roman and sister Emma Alicia Stella. By his beloved grandchildren Adrian, Melissa, Alyssa, Lindsey, Andrea, Adriana, Luke and Layla and his beautiful great granddaughter Bellamy and many in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Friends and family are invited to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Saturday, March 20th from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held for Jose in the Funeral Home at 4 p.m.
