Sorry sorry to hear about Monsieur Blanchette's passing. He was my high school French teacher and a dear colleague of my father. He was always so kind and caring. Years later I would often see him around town and we would  have an enjoyable  chat in French. Repose en paix Monsieur. 

I had Monsieur B. for my first French class in 1983. He his the primary reason I learned as well as I did; he made learning a new language engaging and fun. "We strive for perfection !" was his mantra. Always looked forward to his classes.

Almost 50 years ago, I attended MHS and had Mr Blanchette for my 10th grade homeroom teacher. He was a class act and I’m glad he lived such a long life. Bonjour Mr B

I had Monsieur Blanchette for French. He was a lovely man and Le Petite Prince was my favorite memory. The way he taught it and talked about the stars laughing was magical. R I P Mr. B

As a former member of the Boston Prime Timers, Jo-Jo always provided subscriptions to various classical venues through out Boston. He was a great opera lover. Jo-Jo you will be miss by all whom were touched by your good heart. RIP

I wasn’t a very good student and barely passed his classes. But he was a very good teacher and it was one of the classes in High School I did enjoy, he made learning fun. Condolences to his family.

I loved M. Blanchette's French classes! He had a great sense of humor. I graduated MHS in '74 and enjoyed learning French and Spanish so much I became a language teacher in 1978 and that's what I've been doing ever since.  Merci, M. Blanchette ...

I am so sorry to hear of Monsieur Blanchette's passing. I was one of his students back in 1975. He was a nice man, and he had a unexpectedly great sense of humor. I enjoyed his classes, mostly because he cared so much about teaching the class the proper way.  I will remember always how he would discuss the book, "Le Petit Prince" and talk about the stars laughing. I never considered before then that stars could indeed laugh... but  because it was almost magical to him, I learned that they do indeed laugh, and on the many bright, star lit nights here in Maine, I see them, and watch them laugh, and I always think of Mr. Blanchette. He will be missed.

Mr Blanchette was a fine french language teacher at Beebe Jr High.
He knew how to manage his classroom and was always fair in the way he graded ... I appreciated  his sense of humor, as well.

I studied high school French with the very engaging Monsieur Blanchette  Wonderful memories of his  enthusiastic teaching methods. He was a wonderful teacher and a very kind human being

So sorry to hear this... I teach at Malden High and got to know Joe early in my career before he retried. He was always a caring individual with a vibrant spirit. I enjoyed talking with him about just about anything. He will be missed.
