Joseph F. McQuillan

Born in Lynn , Joseph was the son of the late Edwin and Kathleen (Wellington) McQuillan. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1942 and later attended Mass Art. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. He had lived in Shirley since 1978 and previously resided in Lynn.

Prior to his retirement 20 years ago, Joseph worked as a graphic illustrator. He enjoyed playing chess, reading, and drawing.

He leaves his daughters, Julie McQuillan St. Clair and her husband Mike of Scarborough, ME and Susan Hounsell and her husband Bill of No. Conway, NH. He also leaves 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, Katie, and Monica, and 1 great grandchild, Alexandra. Joseph was the brother of Bob McQuillan of Auburndale, John McQuillan of Florida, Paul McQuillan of Melrose, Bill McQuillan of Georgetown, Sarah Goodwin of Peabody, and the late Ed McQuillan.

Joseph’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple St. LYNN on Tuesday at 12:30PM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 1:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation prior to Mass beginning at 11:00AM. Gifts in Joe’s name may be sent to the MSPCA 350 So. Huntington Ave Boston, MA 02130.
