Kathleen M. "Kay" Walker

Kathleen “Kay” Walker passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Salem Hospital. Kay was born on July 8, 1927 in Boston, the daughter of the late Eldred A. and Catherine E. (Powers) Foss. She was raised and educated in Saugus.

Kay’s greatest love in life was her family. Her greatest joy was holidays and birthdays that the family would share together. Having raised 6 children on her own, she took much pride in each and every milestone in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She loved visits from family members, country music, hot summer days, and Boston sports. She will be missed by family and friends.

Kay is survived by 5 children, 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great grandchildren. She leaves her daughter Kathryn (Walker) and her husband Mark Sewell of Peabody, son Donald and his wife Ruth Walker of Lynn, son Robert and his wife Kathleen Walker of Beverly, son Tim and his wife Sheila Walker of Salem, daughter Tammy Walker of Lynn. Her grandchildren; Mark Sewell, Jr. and his wife Tarra, Leanne (Sewell) Foye and her husband David, Justin Walker and his wife Meghan, Ashley (Walker) Valletta and her husband Dominic, and Eric Walker. Her two step-grandchildren, Guy Larcom and his wife Danielle, and Aaron Larcom and his wife Gina. Her 3 step-great grandchildren, Jax and Miles Larcom and Mason John Larcom. Kay is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Kay was predeceased by her husband, Donald A. Walker, her two brothers, Albert and Raymond Foss. Kay’s son, Richard Walker passed away in the early morning hours on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 as well.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Walker’s visitation on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 4-8 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904. Her funeral will begin at the funeral home at 10 AM on Friday, January 12, 2018 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street in Lynn.
