

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Catherine M. (Sullivan) Hutchins. He attended the Essex Agricultural & Technical Institute.
He enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in1981, he served the City of Lynn as a Firefighter. He was appointed on January 2, 1973 and at that time was assigned to Engine 1 Division 4. In May of that year, he was assigned to Engine 3 Division 2 and on May 21, 1978, he was appointed to the rank of Lieutenant. He was a member of the Lynn Firefighters Relief Assn.
He was a past member of the Lynn Lodge of Elks, Franco-American War Veterans Post 12, Amvets Post 161 and Post 507 VFW.
He leaves his brother Robert C. Hutchins and his wife Patricia of PA, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves several close friends including Lorraine Clay of Lynn.
A funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial in the Firefighters Lot, Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 PM.
