Lee Thomas Surette

Lee Thomas Surette passed away in Salem Hospital on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Lynn with most of it spent on Pendexter Street. He was the son of the late Clifton and Corinne (Loring) Surette.

Lee graduated from Essex Aggie High School and after graduation he worked in a nursery and for a landscape company. In 1986 Lee started his 35 year career working side by side with his cousin at Reid Land Surveyors in Lynn. Lee loved the great outdoors, and was happiest when he was hunting, fishing or working around his land in Vermont. But most of all he loved his many lifelong friends and treasured the many memories they had made. If Lee was your friend you had the best of the best!

He had a very congenial personality and could easily befriend a person in need, no matter when or where. He was a living example of a person willing to “give you the shirt off his back.” He loved his dog Quinn who was his faithful companion.

He was the beloved brother to Steven Surette of Lynn, Susan White and her husband Steven of Concord, NH, and Sandra Beaudet and her husband Glen of Newark, VT; cherished uncle to nephews James J. O’Meara, IV and his wife Michele of Marblehead and William L. O’Meara and his wife Krissi of Hampstead, NH; and nieces Jen O’Brien of New Hampshire and Kate Ely of Virginia. He leaves behind 5 great nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves his lifelong friend Patrick Burke of Swampscott.

Visitation for Lee will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. His funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
