Lenore Dawn Prendergast

Lenore D. Prendergast, 89 of Lynn passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 9, 2026 at Lighthouse Nursing Care following a lengthy illness. Lenore was the wife of late Lynn firefighter, Ronald W. Prendergast Sr. with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Winthrop she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith Mennella. She was a graduate of East Boston High School. Lenore and Ron raised their family in Lynn and later retired to Fryeburg, ME, where they made many wonderful friends and worked the famous Fryeburg Fair for several years. After Ron’s passing, Lenore moved back to Lynn to be closer to family.

Lenore had a beautiful smile, was an amazing cook and loved her Lord. She attended both Sacred Heart and the First Church of Christ in Lynn, Congregational for many years.

She leaves behind her children: Lenore (Lee Svenson) of Henderson, NV, and Ronald Prendergast and his wife, Robyn of Lynn, and her grandchildren Daniel Svenson and his husband Brandon of Windham, ME, Ryan Prendergast and his wife Mary of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Derek Svenson and his wife Nicole of Nashua, NH, Matthew Prendergast of Ohio, Dylan Svenson and his wife Megan of Nashua, NH, Aaron Prendergast of Lynn and David Prendergast of Henderson, NV as well as 6 great-grandchildren

She was the mother of the late Kevin Prendergast and grandmother of the late Sarah Svenson. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Charles, James, Robert, Edith, Florence and Phyllis.

Lenore’s visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15th from 10am – 11am at the First Church of Christ in Lynn, Congregational, 678 Lynnfield St. in Lynn with a Funeral Service beginning at 11am to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38109.
