Born in 1931 in Augsburg, Germany, Lotte was the eldest child of Theresa and Theodore Fachner. Her and her family lived through World War II in Nazi Germany, where in 1952, at age 21, she met her late husband, Lawrence, a Sargent in the US Army, stationed in Augsburg. They were married in 1953 in Germany and moved to The United States after his tour of duty, settling in Lynn, MA. In 1954, Lotte gave birth to their first daughter Evelyn, then twin boys Lawrence and George in 1956. Lotte eventually received her US citizenship, a proud moment in her life, in March of 1960. Lotte worked at Analog Devices in Wilmington, MA as an inspector in the shipping department for 17 years, retiring in 1994.
Lotte loved shopping, jewelry, collecting porcelain dolls, tending to her plants and keeping a beautifully decorated, welcoming home. Lotte was always well dressed, with her matching earrings, rings and bracelets; her hair and makeup always perfect. She kept her German heritage alive with her collection of Hummels, Beer Steins, and her stories of life in Germany, colored with her accent. Despite the challenges of living in Germany during WWII, Lotte always had a positive outlook when she would share stories of life during war times. Lotte was a source of inspiration, compassion and love to everyone in her life.
Lotte leaves behind her daughter Evelyn and her husband Al (Rezendes) of Lynn MA, her son George and his wife Barbara of Rochester, NH and her son Lawrence (Larry) and his wife, Virginia of Farmington, NH. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Kristen, (late) Mark, Matthew, Brian, Kerri, Jennifer, Jaimie, Corie and Stefanie, along with 8 great-grandchildren; Daniel, Ryan, Hannah, James, Kierra, Trista, Bryce and Kam'rin. Lotte also had several nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly.
Lotte is predeceased by her little brother, Fritz, who died at age 2.
Lotte will be missed greatly by her friends for over 50 years, Berta Wilson and Rita Long, as well as her friends and resident coordinators at the Tannery Apartments; especially Rosa, her home health aid for several years.
Lotte's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Brudnick Center for Living for caring for her in her last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lotte's name, to a charity of your choice. Due to COVID19, a celebration of life for Lotte will be held at a later date.
